This legislation mandates that Member States provide at least one digital wallet that citizens can use voluntarily, to facilitate the seamless integration of national digital identities with an array of personal attributes, such as qualifications. The panel, composed of experts from industry and academia, alongside representatives from the office of Malta’s Information & Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC), will delve into key challenges tied to the fulfilment of the DPO’s role 6 years after the coming into force of the GDPR, as well as explore strategies to ensure effective compliance with data protection regulations.
